EUGENE, Ore. – The New Zone Gallery in downtown Eugene is on a mission to beautify the city’s streets through a unique art initiative.
The “Eugene Parking Meter Repair Art Project” emerged in response to the vandalism of 600 downtown parking meters since 2023. In an effort to address this issue, the city converted the meters to cashless by removing the coin vault doors. To fill the void left by the vaults, artists have created more than 200 miniature art displays.
