Junction City woman guilty of $487k COVID fund fraud

EUGENE, Ore. – A Junction City business owner admitted to stealing more than $487,000 in federal pandemic relief funds, according to federal court officials.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon, Jodi Aliece Jennings, 50, pleaded guilty to wire fraud after misusing Paycheck Protection Program loans and an Economic Injury Disaster Loan. Court documents reveal Jennings falsely claimed her companies were operational and paying payroll during the pandemic. Instead, she used the funds for personal expenses.

Jennings faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is set for April 22…
