Electric motorcycle crash in Springfield leads to DUII arrest

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A crash involving a vehicle and an electric motorcycle on Thurston Road has prompted an investigation by the Springfield Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.

According to authorities, the crash occurred when the vehicle driver, who was turning southbound onto 64th Street, failed to see the electric motorcycle. Evidence suggests that the motorcycle was traveling in the wrong direction in the eastbound bicycle lane, Springfireld police said. The juvenile rider of the electric motorcycle was wearing a helmet and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, necessitating transport to the hospital.
