Springfield Taco Bell fire disrupts traffic on 42nd Street

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A fire that erupted at a Taco Bell on North 42nd Street and Main Street is now under control. The fire began at 3:05 p.m., causing traffic delays in the area.

Firefighters quickly responded to the scene, encountering flames on the restaurant’s roof. According to Battalion Chief Jesse Gill of Eugene Springfield Fire, “We had a reported fire here at Taco Bell. First arriving crew located fire on the roof mainly in the HVAC unit.”

Gill said, “They were able to extinguish the fire, keep it to the HVAC unit and within the duct work.” This swift action ensured the safety of the building and its occupants…
