Every year, Dry January rolls around right after Christmas and New Year’s. For those unfamiliar with the concept, Dry January is a phenomenon where people vow to go a month without alcohol to try to change their relationship with alcohol in the new year. Since December is the peak month for U.S. retail alcohol sales annually, Dry January is a nice way for many to reset as the calendar rolls over.

If you’re curious about drinking less or not at all, you’re not alone. Oregonians are showing a higher-than-average interest in Dry January, with Google search trends showing Oregon ranks as the third most interested state in Dry January, with search activity 17% over the national average.
