Eight DUII drivers caught by Eugene police over busy weekend

EUGENE, Ore. – Police officers made eight DUII arrests from Saturday to Sunday, a trend that underscores a concerning pattern of impaired driving in the area, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that the first arrest occurred at 12:52 a.m. on Jan. 17, when a Ford F-350, driven by 20-year-old John Quincy Bowser-Starrett, ran a red light on West 6th Avenue near Polk Street. He was charged with DUII and providing false information to an officer.

Later, at 6:10 p.m., police apprehended 39-year-old Rudolph Charles Gutierrez at a Burger House drive-thru on Green Acres Road. Gutierrez faced charges of DUII and reckless driving…
