Former Oregon credit union employee accused of embezzling $230,000 from dead members

A former Peak Credit Union employee has been charged with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the accounts of members who had died.

Teresa Margiotta, 50, worked for the credit union, formerly known as the Northwest Community Credit Union, for nearly 20 years.

Margiotta was arraigned on charges in Lane County Circuit Court on Jan. 21 for allegedly embezzling at least $230,000 from 20 deceased individuals while working at the credit union…
