Oregon wakes to sharp, biting air as frost clings to rooftops, cars, and fields across the southern Willamette Valley. Breath hangs visibly in the still morning, and sidewalks feel stiff underfoot. This is not a typical coastal chill. Winter has real teeth today.

The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory covering Eugene, Portland, and much of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.
