EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and two vehicles on the Beltline Highway near the River Road exit that temporarily closed the eastbound lanes on Friday afternoon, according to the Eugene Police Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
EPD officials said the incident occurred at 3:52 p.m. on Jan. 23, when traffic was bumper to bumper. A motorcyclist, identified as 32-year-old Jacob Thomas Macklin, was riding a Honda Shadow and reportedly rear-ended a Toyota Camry before being hit from behind by a Chevy Silverado. Another driver used his truck to block traffic and protect Macklin, who was downed on the road. Macklin was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
