SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Gateway Street and International Way Monday afternoon resulted in serious injuries for three individuals that included two juveniles, according to the Springfield Police Department.
Springfield police said the crash occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. on Jan. 26, when a vehicle collided with a tree and ended up on its side, trapping the occupants inside. First responders, including officers and fire personnel, arrived swiftly on the scene. Several bystanders were already assisting the trapped occupants.
A juvenile passenger was removed from the vehicle and suffered a severe arm laceration, and an officer applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding. Fire personnel extricated the adult male driver and another juvenile from the vehicle. All three individuals were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries…
