Pedestrian killed in Springfield after driver’s report of man jumping into traffic

A pedestrian was found dead on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway in Springfield after being struck by a vehicle on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 29, police said.

Springfield police, in a statement, said its initial investigation found the deceased man intentionally put himself in front of moving vehicles in the roadway, which has four lanes of traffic.
