Springfield-based wood ceiling manufacturer 9Wood laid off another 19 workers in mid-January.
The company conducted two rounds of layoffs in 2025. In January last year, about 20 workers were laid off and, in October, another 18 were let go. On Jan. 15, 19 more layoffs took place. 9Wood has laid off about 60 workers across the three rounds of firings.
Colin Hicks is one of the 19 workers impacted by this round of layoffs. Over his eight-year tenure at 9Wood, Hicks held a variety of positions such as production supervisor, facilities manager and engineering manager.
