Eugene vigil honors Erick Njue, PhD student from Kenya

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon community is gathering to honor the life of Erick Njue, a graduate student who tragically lost his life in a bicycle accident last week.

Erick, a cherished PhD student from Kenya, was studying special education. In his honor, students, faculty, and members of the international community dressed in traditional attire will dance the Mughiti after marching from the crash site at Spencer View Apartments to Gerlinger Hall. The vigil will feature East African songs, testimonies, and poetry readings.
