SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – February is becoming a little cheesier in Lane County, and it’s all for a good cause. The Grilled Cheese Experience is featuring a record number of restaurants across the region to support Food for Lane County.
Throughout February, eateries in Eugene, Springfield, Coburg, Cottage Grove, Veneta, Lorane, and Junction City are participating in this event.
“For a lot of people, it’s really hard to even put basics on the table,” Dawn Marie Woodward, media coordinator of Food for Lane County, said. “So bread, cheese, and other things like that. And so we thought, ‘you know February is a fun time to do this. It’s rainy. It’s dark. It’s something that could lift people’s spirit and raise money for the food banks.”…
