Following the Jan. 25 death of University of Oregon Ph.D student Erick Munene Njue in a car-bicycle crash on Patterson Street, calls to reform the area have grown.
Patterson and Hilyard streets are a pair of north/south one-ways running from Broadway to 24th Avenue, near the University of Oregon’s west boundary. They run the length of the UO and South Eugene High School campuses.
