Man arrested following stabbing near W. 8th Avenue and Lincoln Street

Eugene, OR – Eugene police arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that left a young adult injured Sunday evening, according to the Eugene Police Department.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 5:18 p.m. on February 9 to the area of W. 8th Avenue and Lincoln Street following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police located the victim, described as a man in his 20s suffering from an arm injury. Authorities said a bystander had already intervened, applying a tourniquet in an effort to control bleeding before emergency responders reached the scene.

Police officers immediately took over medical care, placing a second tourniquet while awaiting the arrival of fire and medical personnel. Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded shortly afterward, providing further treatment before transporting the victim to a local hospital.
