Commuters face bumpy drive on newly renovated Highway 126 bridge

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Drivers in the Eugene and Springfield area are raising concerns about the rough conditions on the newly renovated Main Street Bridge.

Despite major renovations earlier this year, commuters report that the driving experience is less smooth than anticipated. The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) closed the westbound Main Street Bridge for several weeks at the start of the year. This allowed crews to replace aging bridge joints, repave the roadway, and rebuild the bike ramp on the east side.
