National group raises concerns over PeaceHealth’s ER doctor change

Local emergency medicine physicians have raised national attention as staffing contract changes spell uncertainty in local PeaceHealth emergency rooms after an out-of-state staffing company, ApolloMD, was chosen to replace the current contract holder, Eugene Emergency Physicians.

The American Academy of Emergency Medicine issued a letter Feb. 16 supporting EEP’s service to PeaceHealth. The letter follows support for EEP voiced by the Oregon Nurses Association and community members who have benefited from the care of the local physicians.
