EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Springfield Firefighters (ESF) battled a car fire on West 11th Avenue that was complicated by a fuel leak and the risk of an explosion, according to ESF.
Battalion Chief Wayne Morris said crews responded to a vehicle that was freely burning, and faced an active gasoline leak that kept igniting.
“Crews were hampered by a running fuel leak, so we had gasoline leaking from the car and it was igniting and running away from the car,” he said. “Ended up spent a lot of water putting the fire out but eventually they ended up getting the fire out.”…
