The wrestling state finals started off with an explosive finish, as Harrisburg’s Eden Ridgley stunned reigning champion Lorien Bowns of Nyssa 3-2 in the 100-pound finals in Class 4A/3A/2A/1A.
It was a rematch of last year’s championship finals — which Bowns won via fall with 16 seconds left — and Ridgley was able to get her win back on Friday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
“It feels good,” Ridgley said. “I think that it wasn’t my best, I think I’m capable of a lot more. But it’s pretty awesome.”…
