EUGENE, Ore. – BRING Recycling’s beloved fiberglass rhino, Jabali, is getting a makeover just in time for Earth Month.
According to BRING Recycling, the rhino is being sanded, primed, and painted to restore her presence at the organization’s bioswale. Jabali, named through a community contest, has become a well-known landmark. Sonya Carlson, executive director of BRING Recycling, emphasized the importance of repair and refresh as a way to celebrate Earth Day.
“Her last spa day was 15 years ago, so she’s looking a little rough,” Carlson said. “She’s got some cracks and rough edges, and she needs some care and love. Showing that repair and refresh, instead of buying things that are new, is a great way to celebrate Earth Day.”…
