Asante loses court bid to limit hospital visits by union

A federal judge has denied a motion by Asante Health Systems to limit Oregon Nurses Association union officials’ access to hospital facilities.

U.S. District Judge Mustafa Kasubhai made the ruling Tuesday during a hearing in Eugene. The motion for preliminary injunction is part of a larger ongoing case in which the ONA, which represents 15,000 nurses, is accused of violating the terms of a collective bargaining agreement because of site visits by union representative Misha Hernandez, which Asante officials said put patient privacy at risk and caused disruptions to hospital operations…
