EUGENE, Ore. – Chaos erupted on March 14 when a massive party on East 14th Avenue spilled into the street, prompting a swift response from the Eugene Police Department.
EPD officials said the gathering, which drew an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 attendees mostly in their 20s, caused disruptions as partygoers flooded the roadway and surrounding areas. According to EPD, the crowd’s behavior quickly raised concerns, with reports of public urination, disputes with residents, and intoxicated individuals wandering into traffic. A medical emergency occurred when a man fell and hit his head.
The EPD, with support from the University of Oregon patrol officers, deployed various teams, including the Crisis Negotiation Team and Drone Team, to manage the situation. Officers advised the crowd to clear the streets, encountering minimal resistance. Three people were arrested on multiple charges, including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
