EUGENE, Ore. – South Hills Montessori School in Eugene is celebrating a new beginning after narrowly avoiding closure due to financial mismanagement. Parents and teachers stepped in to save the school, which was threatened just before the start of the school year.
Previously, Far Horizons Montessori School occupied the building on Hilyard Street since the 1970s. It became embroiled in a scandal when it was revealed that teachers were not being paid, leading to a shutdown in August 2025.
