$600k embezzlement nets 8-year prison term for Springfield woman

A 42-year-old Springfield woman was sentenced Tuesday, March 10, to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to embezzling more than $600,000 from her employer.

Melisa Ann Juline Jaragosky pleaded guilty in December to 14 counts of aggravated identity theft and seven counts of first-degree aggravated theft.

After being hired as an accountant in 2018 by Harvey and Price Co., a Eugene-based mechanical services contractor, Jaragosky wrote herself checks from the company’s account, the Lane County District Attorney said in a news release.
