EAST LANE COUNTY, Ore. — Jake Pelroy, a Lane County native, former U.S. Marine and small business owner, has announced he is running for Lane County Commissioner, District 5 — a seat that includes communities along the Hwy 58 corridor and the McKenzie River area, as well as several cities and rural communities across East Lane County.
Pelroy enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 2005 and served three combat tours in Iraq. After leaving the military, he worked in public policy and says he is running to focus county government on practical, day-to-day concerns for working families.
“Lane County is facing real challenges right now — from the high cost of living that forces families to move, to public safety issues that make our communities feel less safe, and a county bureaucracy that can be hard for workers and small businesses to navigate,” Pelroy said. “I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work starting day one. I began my career as a trash hauler right here in Lane County. Working families are the backbone of our community, and they deserve a voice at the County.”…
