EUGENE, Ore. — More than five decades after a young woman was killed inside a west Eugene motel room, the Eugene Police Department Cold Case Squad is again asking the public for help in solving the homicide of Margo Nerine Ascencio, also known as Margo Castro.
Ascencio was 22 at the time of her death. Police said she was killed March 1, 1975, between 8:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. at the El Don Motel, 1140 W. Sixth Ave.
Her body was found in a motel room, and police said she “had been attacked viciously and suffered stab wounds all over her body.” The cause of death was multiple stab wounds…
