Springfield man gets life for killing parents in Mohawk Valley home

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A Springfield man was sentenced to life in prison Friday morning for killing his elderly parents in their Mohawk Valley home one year ago.

Christopher Allan Turner, 59, pleaded guilty Friday to the murders. He shot 89-year-old Paul Turner and 84-year-old Beverly Turner in their bed in the home they shared with him, according to court documents.

Turner’s sister found her parents’ bodies when she went to the home after being unable to reach them for a couple of days, according to a search warrant affidavit filed around the time of the deaths. Christopher Turner was asleep on the couch, surrounded by bottles of alcohol. He was initially thought to be dead too, prompting the 911 call for three bodies…
