Eugene Police Department investigated fatal crash on Beltline on-ramp involving two vehicles

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash on the eastbound Beltline connector to Interstate 5, where one driver died and the other was not seriously injured.

According to the department, the crash occurred when a Ford F250, driven by 41-year-old Kenneth Lee Gajda of Junction City, collided with the left side of a Lexus ES driven by a 65-year-old Junction City resident while entering the on-ramp to I-5 from eastbound Beltline.

After the initial collision, the Ford F250 continued forward, struck and sheared a power pole, and crashed through the right-side metal guard rail of the on-ramp. The driver of the Ford F250 was pronounced deceased at the scene…
