Man accused of killing former UO professor, Sharon Schuman, on trial

Scott Stolarczyk, 52, is heading to trial in Lane County Circuit Court on March 31 following the traffic death of Sharon Schuman, 79, a former University of Oregon professor and a respected academic, writer and advocate for civic engagement.

The crash occurred on April 23, 2025. In June, a Lane County grand jury indicted Stolarczyk on one count of second-degree manslaughter and one count of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
