‘Rebirth’ continues as Lane County Parks redesigns scorched Eagle Rock Park in Vida

VIDA, Ore. — Lane County Parks says its latest project in Vida is a “rebirth,” with residents coming out Monday morning to see the reopening of Eagle Rock Park, while nearby trees remain scorched from the Holiday Farm Fire in 2020.

Just before 8 p.m. on September 7, 2020, what would become the devastating Holiday Farm Fire started several miles west of McKenzie Bridge, moving through Blue River, Vida and Leaburg — consuming everything that stood in its path, including Eagle Rock Park, which is nestled just below the well-known landmark that gave the park its name.
