Spring plant sale benefits hunger relief in Lane County

EUGENE, Ore. – FOOD for Lane County is holding its annual spring plant sale Saturday at a new location on Seavey Loop Road near Mount Pisgah.

The popular sale of garden starts benefits hunger relief programs. A youth farm will host the event this year, offering vegetable, berry, herb and flower starts that typically sell out quickly.

“It’s a way of us raising funds for our program as well as getting really healthy plants out to the community so folks can grow some of their own food resource and do it really successfully because we feel really great about the quality and the vitality of the plants we grow,” said Jen Anonia, FFLC’s gardens program manager…
