EUGENE, Ore. — The Autzen Canoe Canal Footbridge will be closed again May 5 as part of the University of Oregon’s ongoing athletics practice facility upgrades.
The footbridge will be closed for about three weeks to finish repairs and replace the deficient girder that crews found in March. The footbridge will be permanently opened with all repairs completed by May 24.
The change in schedule for the footbridge does not impact the construction of the nearby parking lot, Lot 8, which will remain closed through August 2026 for improvements. The lot will be enlarged and paved to become an all-season parking area…
