‘Skyline 7’ member pleads guilty to burglarizing homes of Asian people

Derinson Martinez-Grandas, 34, pleaded guilty to conspiring with six others to burglarize the homes of Asian American business owners in Oregon and Washington.

Martinez-Grandas, a Colombian national, is the fourth member of a group deemed the “Skyline 7” by the Eugene Police Department to plead guilty to the crime. Three suspects remain at large and are wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. One of those suspects, who officials could not identify, was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and deported.

During his plea hearing, which started just before 10:45 a.m. on May 19, Martinez-Grandas appeared alongside his attorney, Irina Hughes. He was clean shaven and dressed in a gray and a white striped shirt and pants. An interpreter appeared virtually to guide him through the hearing…
