$38M housing project coming to Evansville promenade

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Evansville’s promenade district will soon see new housing and high-end amenities through a multi-million dollar investment.

The Republic, a new $38 million multi-use development will have two four-story buildings featuring two-bedroom apartments along with commercial and restaurant space. The project is planned at Oak Grove and Burkhardt Road.

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry says projects like The Republic will expand housing options and attract residents and talent to support long-term economic growth. The city is partnering with the state to fund the multi-million dollar project with tax increment financing and Indiana READI funding…
