NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEVV) — Just over 48 hours after Sunday night’s storms turned a local apartment complex into what residents described as a “disaster zone,” the community is already well into a rapid recovery effort.
The storm’s impact was immediate and surreal. For many residents, the scene Monday morning resembled a winter landscape, with shredded insulation blanketing the ground and debris, including roof fragments, fencing, and displaced vehicles, scattered across the property.
