HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) – The city’s Veterans Memorial Foundation is working on plans to develop a Veterans park on the riverfront that would feature the PTF-26, the last PT boat ever built.
PT boats were assembled during the Vietnam-war era and were instrumental during the war in the Pacific.
“We have a lot of people come here strictly for our riverwalk,” said Buzzy Newman, assistant city manager of Henderson. “That’s one of the reasons why the War Memorial Committee wanted to develop the Veterans park along the river to help enhance it. I see the boat further enhancing that Veterans park, along with everything else we currently have at our riverfront.”…
