EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville man is facing felony charges after police say he injured multiple officers during an arrest outside a local hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
49-year-old Patrick Hancock was arrested on Wednesday, July 29, and charged with:
- Resisting Law Enforcement Causing Injury (Level 5 Felony)
- Battery on Public Safety (Level 6 Felony)
- Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor)
According to an arrest affidavit from the Evansville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of N. First Avenue around 5:15 p.m. in reference to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, responding officers encountered Hancock, who was shouting and cursing at hospital police officers already on the scene.
The affidavit states Hancock had just left Deaconess Midtown and was demanding an ambulance to transport him to St. Vincent. Although dispatch reported Hancock had texted 911, he denied making the texts to the responding officers…
