A Newburgh woman is facing multiple felony drug charges following a traffic stop and subsequent discovery of methamphetamine at the Posey County Jail. According to police records, 31-year-old Brittany Danielle Deener was pulled over by the Posey County Sheriff’s Office at about 1:12 AM on Tuesday morning after deputies said she crossed the center line. During the traffic stop, deputies determined Deener was driving without proof of valid insurance. They also reported finding an open alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up a syringe containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Deener was then taken to the Posey County Jail without incident. During the booking process, jail staff reportedly found another syringe concealed in Deener’s clothing. A body scan also detected an object believed to be concealed inside her body. After obtaining a search warrant, medical personnel removed the object, and authorities say it contained more than 16 grams of methamphetamine wrapped in plastic. The Posey County Prosecutors Office has filed five charges against Deener, including two counts of methamphetamine possession, unlawful possession of a syringe, another methamphetamine possession charge, and misdemeanor marijuana possession. If convicted as charged, Deener could face between three and 16 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Deener is being held without bond in the Posey County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in Posey Circuit Court today for an initial hearing…
