Man accused of owning gun with ‘machine gun conversion device’

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A man has been arrested in Evansville after police say he had a gun with a machine gun conversion device attached to it.

According to the Evansville Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle near Chandler Avenueand Kerth Avenue around 1:40 a.m. on Saturday. Police say they stopped the vehicle for an equipment violation.

Police say the driver was a juvenile and told officers he did not have a driver’s license. They then spoke to the passenger of the car, identified as Jaylin J. Woods, 20, where police say they found a small amount of marijuana and a 9mm bullet on him.

While searching the vehicle before towing it, officers say they found a firearm in the trunk equipped with a machine gun conversion device. Police say the device allows a semi-automatic gun to fire continuously with one trigger pull…
