EPD: Man arrested after officers find children, pets in deplorable conditions

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A man has been arrested after Evansville police reportedly found several children and pets living in deplorable conditions.

Officers with the Evansville Police Department responded to an area of Sweetser Avenue just before 8:45 p.m. Monday for a dispute involving William Woods Jr. and Teana Armstead.

According to a police report, an officer spoke with a juvenile who reported that Woods and Armstead had been fighting and stated that she had not eaten since school.

During a search of the residence, officers reported encountering an overpowering, foul odor. Inside, police reported finding floors smeared with animal feces, standing water, rotting food scattered throughout the house, exposed litter boxes, and bugs in the children’s room…
