Carmi man gets 37 months for weapon charges in stolen truck investigation

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – A Carmi man will serve the next 37 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges in a stolen vehicle investigation.

Daniel Poshard was sentenced on Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

Federal records state police found eight guns and hundreds of rounds of ammo in a stolen truck outside of a pawn shop.

The investigation connected the truck to a theft in Posey County. Court records state more than 60 power and hand tools were reported stolen. Police later learned Poshard was reportedly in the process of trying to pawn the tools before officers arrived…
