HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A lane closure has been extended on the Twin Bridges.
Officials say a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) began a follow-up inspection of the southbound U.S. 41 Twin Bridge in Henderson County on September 28. The single-lane closure that was implemented that morning will remain in place overnight Monday as crews complete inspection-related activities and analysis of inspection data.
KY 666 in Union County to be blocked for repairs
According to the KYTC, temporary repairs were made to the bridge bearings in late August, allowing the southbound bridge to fully reopen to traffic. Permanent repairs remain scheduled for later this year once the necessary materials can be fabricated.
Officials say drivers should use caution when traveling through the area, obey posted traffic control devices and allow additional time for travel while the lane restriction remains in place.
