Drone helps Evansville police catch two in copper wire theft, officials say

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Evansville Police Department officials say two people were arrested after police caught them stealing more than 100 pounds of copper wire.

According to a press release, officers were on regular patrol in the 1500 block of North Evans Avenue near Tennessee Street just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday when they saw a person dressed in all black running through a fenced-in lot, which contained equipment owned by CenterPoint Energy.

Officials say officers deployed a department drone and spotted two suspects, later identified as Kenneth Pleasant and Danielle Guess, running through an adjacent vacant lot before hiding in a nearby bush…
