Evansville man found guilty of burglary, theft of items from storage unit

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – After a two-day trial, a Vanderburgh County jury has found one of two men suspected of stealing multiple items from a storage unit guilty.

Ryan Carnahan was found guilty of burglary and two counts of theft. He also plead guilty to an enhancement of being a habitual offender.

This dated back to August 2025 when Carnahan and Matthew Walls stole a few handguns, a gun safe, black tote with rifle parts, a duffle bag with a binder containing serial numbers for all the guns, a motorcycle helmet, a sunshade canopy and a carrying bag. Total value of the items was documented of about $12,368.

Carnahan’s sentencing is set for October 22 at 10 a.m…
