EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – While most booths at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival are seeing record numbers, one longtime staple is operating without its signature menu item this year.
Emanuel Lutheran, located at booth 18, is without its famous chicken and dumplings due to an earlier fire at the church.
Church members say a chemical fire broke out in the church basement back in June, leaving the nearby kitchen gutted and unusable. Officials say the church itself is already struggling following congregation departures after COVID, making the Fall Festival booth one of their only means of fundraising…
