Authorities: Man arrested following chase, transporting meth

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A man that was wanted by out of state authorities is behind bars after Kentucky authorities say he tried to transport meth into Muhlenberg County.

Authorities state the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department received information on the stated matter. They also say Kentucky State Police helped with tracking the vehicle.

Juvenile charged following shooting investigation

Authorities say after the vehicle exited the Western Kentucky Parkway in Greenville, the sheriff’s office tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect reportedly fled, almost hitting multiple police vehicles.

Spike strips reportedly were used to stop the vehicle and were successful. Around ten ounces of suspected meth and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The suspect was identified as Richard Stephenson, 50. Richardson was also allegedly wanted out of Illinois.

Richardson was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Fleeing and Evading Police and Wanton Endangerment.
