LGBTQ+ advocate Cathy Renna to speak in Evansville

EVANSVILLE — Speaker and LGBTQ+ advocate Cathy Renna will be in Evansville on Monday to talk with local activists Yvon Lauren and Jerusha Van Camp.

The event will be at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Evansville. A reception will follow.

Renna is the communications director at the National LGBTQ Task Force and the Principal of Target Cue, a public relations and communications firm focused on LGBTQ and HIV-related issues and events.

Renna was previously the national news media director for GLAAD. “Since her time at GLAAD, Cathy has executed her particular expertise in crisis and strategic communications, playing a central role in shaping nearly all major issues affecting the LGBTQ community, from the beating death of Matthew Shepard in 1998 to the fight for marriage equality and the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,'” the news release states.
