Shining a light on local high school students

The Courier & Press is working to shine a light on the good deeds and accomplishments of local high school students.

This past week, we started the Courier & Press Student of the Week award. We’re seeking nominations from officials at local high schools who want to help us get the word out about their students.

The first winner was Lindsey Laine of Central High School in Evansville. You can read more about her in this article recognizing her win.

Another poll with the second week’s nominees will be on courierpress.com and the Courier & Press app bright and early Monday morning. There, you can read about a handful of local students who are achieving great things and making a difference in the lives of others.

Take time to cast a vote or two before the poll ends Thursday at noon. And take time to encourage a young person in your life to do something great.

Have a good weekend, and thanks, as always, for your support of the Courier & Press.
