WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT)- The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office is taking on a new recruitment strategy. Deputies began posting TikTok videos late last year, and some of them are going viral.
“We are trying to show the lighter side of who we are,” says Warrick County Sheriff Mike Wilder.
Sheriff Wilder says they frequently have brainstorming sessions, but adds he tends to leave it up to the ‘younger ones.’
“I give them my final stamp of approval. Right now we kind of just meet and decide what is a good message to put out there. We are just trying to have fun and relate to the community,” says Sheriff Wilder.
The page has gained thousands of followers over the past few months and continues to grow. Videos show sheriff deputies talking about what it is like to be a deputy. They also post bloopers and outtakes. One blooper involves a K9 and has millions of views.
“Law enforcement is not just about arresting people and stuff. There are humans on the other side of the badge,” the sheriff says.
